Saskatchewan immigration added 12 positions in the list of top Demand Occupations for the SINP. The additions in the list range from accounting technicians (NOC 1311), computer programmers, interactive media developers (NOC 2174), tailors, furriers, dressmakers, and milliners (NOC 6342) and glaziers (NOC 7292). This list is effective from April 4th, 2019. Moreover, it has removed 10 positions, like psychiatrists (NOC 3111) and welders (NOC 7237). Requirements of the SINP Occupation Demand Sub-Category: Experience in a position on the Demand Occupations list, the list is used as a preliminary requirement in the provincial Express Entry. Both categories work on the system of Expression of Interest.

The Requirements for the top Demand Sub-Category

  • Scoring sixty points on the program grid;
  • Language score of CLB 4. (Employers can also ask for a higher score);
  • Completion of one year in post-secondary training, education, or apprenticeship that can be compared to the education system in Canada. Earning a certificate, diploma, or degree. Moreover, the Degrees/diplomas gained outside Canada should undergo the Educational Credential Assessment;
  • 12 Months work experience during the previous ten years in the select education/training occupation, and also in a job appearing on the list of NOC A, B, 0 of the top demand list.
  • Obtaining the proper provincial license, if that is the requirement of the field because the authorities will not undertake any processing in case there is no license, accompanying the application.
  • A proof of settlement funds/plan.
  • Paying the $300 application fee (non-refundable).

The Requirements for the Express Entry Category

  • A profile in the EE Pool, with a job seeker validation code and the profile number;
  • Scoring 60 points on the points assessment grid;
  • Providing the language test results from a specific testing agency to match with the EE profile;
  • Completing one year of post-secondary apprenticeship, or training education, which can be compared to the local education system. Earning a certificate, diploma, or degree. Moreover, the Degrees/diplomas gained outside Canada should undergo the Credential Assessment also;
  • Having experience requirements in a field of training/education:
  • 12 months of work experience during the last ten years in a skilled profession  for the non-trade category
  • Two years experience in a skilled trade during the last five years; or12 months of work experience during the last three years  in the trade non-trade categories,
  • Work experience in top skilled occupation as per the NOC A, B, 0 of the top demand job list.
  • Obtaining a requisite license when the profession is regulated/skilled trade. A certificate is necessary from the Apprenticeship and Trade Certification Commission for skilled trades,
  • A proof of settlement funds/plan.
  • Paying the $300 application fee that is non-refundable.
