On March 6 Saskatchewan has issued 138 invitations to candidates belonging to the Express Entry and Occupation In-Demand categories. They can submit the application for the provincial nomination for Canada PR. It issued 70 invitations through the provincial EE sub-category and 68 through the Occupation In-Demand sub-category. The EE sub-category allows the nomination of the skilled workers in the province who have a profile in the federal system.

The details of the system

The system of Express Entry supervises the pool of candidates for three Federal economic immigration categories in the country. These are:
  • Canadian Experience Class
  • Federal Skilled Worker Class, and finally
  • Federal Skilled Trades Class
The candidates obtaining the provincial nomination also get 600 extra points to their Comprehensive Ranking System score. Moreover, this serves as a surety to get the invitation to apply for PR. This sub-category does not have a link to the EE system. Furthermore, to get the consideration for nomination by the province through Express Entry or Occupation In-Demand sub-category, the initial step is registering the EOI profile with the SINP. All Eligible candidates get a score depending on education, work experience, language proficiency and connections to the province. Later they enter the pool for their sub-category.

Other details

Candidates for OID sub-category and the EE also need work experience in a top profession on the provincial In-Demand Occupations List. Additionally, specific profiles of the top ranking candidates receive an invitation to seek the provincial nomination through a regular draw. The lowest score of a candidate receiving an invitation through the EE on March 6 was 67. For the candidate receiving an invitation through the In-Demand Occupation sub-category, it was 81. The previous draw held on February 27 issued 83 invitations. Furthermore, the total invitation issued by the SINP is 515 in the EE sub-category and 302 invitations in the OID sub-category for the present year.
