Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program

On July 4
Saskatchewan immigration held a draw and issued 45 invitations to candidates for applying in the new Entrepreneur stream of the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program. The average score in the draw was 125 points, and the profile score range was between 120 and 155 points. In 2018 Saskatchewan had invited 824 and so far in 2019 it has invited 218 candidates to apply in the Entrepreneur Stream.

This draw invited at the lower end in comparison to the previous draws. Its largest draw was held in Oct 2017, which invited 265 candidates.

There is a plan by Saskatchewan, to hold Entrepreneur draws, also on Sep 5th and Nov 7th this year. The province has taken the decision, to increase the draws frequency in 2018. It will hold the draws, every two months, from the earlier, in every three months time.  Thus in 2019 it will conduct six Entrepreneur draws.

The Provincial Entrepreneur stream process

The Provincial Immigration Entrepreneur stream has a process involving these three stages:

1.   Making the Expression of interest

2.   Getting the Invitation for submitting the application, and finally

3.   Nomination

The EOI has to meet these entry requirements:

  • A Minimum net worth of $500,000 that is acquired legally
  • Three years of entrepreneurial /management experience
  • Minimum Investment of $300,000 in Saskatoon or Regina or, $200,000 is other areas of Saskatchewan.
  • All Candidates make a pool entry where they get a score. The candidates with the top scores are invited for submitting the application.

The finer details

These Applications have to include:

  • A Business Establishment Plan to confirm relevant figures in EOI, and include one third ownership of the company in Saskatchewan, except when the investment is $1 million or above it,
  • A Commitment for being active in the daily management of business,
  • Creating of two or additional jobs for citizens or permanent residents of Canada if the business location is in Saskatoon or Regina,
