Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program will give a preference to the Express Entry candidates having the work experience in technology by nominating them for permanent residence in Canada. The draws will specifically select candidates belonging to six technology related occupations by using the Human Capital Priorities Stream.

Ontario has a demand for tech workers

  6. Database Administrators and Analysts NOC 2172

The provincial selection in the target occupations depends on the present needs of labor market after due consultation with the stakeholders and employers of the province. The aspirants do not need a job offer to get the invitation in its Human Capital Priorities Stream. Moreover, as a rule, candidates having a low CRS score that is not sufficient to get the Express Entry invitation are invited in the HCP. Such candidates who get the Notification of Interest from the Program are eligible to apply for nomination of Ontario in 45 days.

Nomination Allocation in Ontario

Annually, the federal government makes an allocation among the nominations for the OINP. During the past six years, there is a steady increase, in the number of nominations allotted to Ontario and the 2019 allocation is 6900. Also, there will be a further growth in the next two years in the PNP admissions.
