The immigration authorities in Manitoba continued with good progress in the present year. After holding the second draw the province exceeded in dispatching 1,000 Letters of Advice to Apply in January.
On January 31 456 candidates received LAAs in three provincial streams. The highest numbers of invitations 299 were issued by using the HCP in the SWO stream, with a low score of 572. It was necessary for the candidates to fulfill these requirements:
Either having a valid EE ID and A Job Seeker Validation Code, and recent work experience of six months in a job figuring in the top demand list in Manitoba Or
- Having a close relative or receiving education /work experience in Manitoba.
- Additionally, having six months of experience in a top demand job in Manitoba.
- Meeting the necessary language requirements.
124 candidates received LAAs in the Skilled Workers in Manitoba stream, for a low ranking score of 575 points. Additionally, 17 candidates received LAAs in the International Education Stream, which did not need any minimum points,
Finally, in the SWO stream, 16 candidates received an invitation in the Strategic Recruitment Initiative, with a low score requirement of 705 points. These SRI candidates receive an invitation to fulfill specific labor needs.
Qualifying for SWM
The SWM Stream has the need of meeting the needs of provincial employers. It selects workers trained overseas who have the necessary skills. Moreover, it gives the nomination to them, for obtaining the permanent residence. Furthermore, this stream gives a priority to such candidates who have an attachment to Manitoba.
a) Manitoba Work Experience Pathway
This caters to applicants presently working in the province on temporary work-permits, by using the TFWP, or also as international graduates from all provinces. There is no need to work in top Demand Occupations.
b) Employer Direct Recruitment Pathway
This caters to overseas applicants who have a job offer from approved local employers.
Qualifying for SWO
The SWO Stream has a dedicated Canadian EE Pathway and the direct pathway of the province. It caters to overseas skilled workers possessing training and skills in top Demand Occupations. Spouses and Applicants having a close family connection, the proficiency in a language, good training, and rich experience also get a Priority in finding jobs.
a) Manitoba Express Entry Pathway
This caters to global candidates eligible in a different MPNP stream, who meet EE criteria and also present an active profile in it. The requirements for a Candidate are skills, experience, and training in a top Demand Occupation, and also a good provincial family connection.
b) Human Capital Pathway
This caters to global workers having skills, experience, and training in a top Demand Occupation. Candidates also have to show the ability to find employment after they reach Manitoba.
This stream caters to global graduates studying from universities/ colleges of Manitoba. Under this, the candidates need not be working for six months prior to applying for provincial nomination.:
1) Career Employment Pathway
- Completing a one-year course from a post-secondary institution in Manitoba in three years of submitting an application.
- Having a full-time job offer in the province in a top Demand occupation relevant to the degree
- Residing in Manitoba
2) Graduate Internship Pathway
Masters/Doctors degree holders completing the Mitacs Accelerate/ Elevate internships are eligible to seek the nomination by way of internships. They do not need a job offer.
3) Student Entrepreneur Pathway
- Completing a two-year course from a post-secondary institution in Manitoba
- Six months experience in business operation
- Residing in Manitoba after graduation.
- Finally, there is no requirement of personal net worth
