Immigration authorities in Manitoba started 2019 by conducting a large draw on January 17. They also issued ITAs to 626 candidates in three streams of the provincial nominee program. In the Human Capital Pathway for Skilled Workers Overseas stream, 367 candidates received the invitation with a score of 575 points. The requirements for these candidates were:

Either

  • Having a valid EE ID and job seeker validation code, with six months of recent experience in a job existing on  In-demand Occupations list in Manitoba Or
  • Having a close relative or past education/work experience in the province.
  • Gaining 6 months of recent experience in an in-demand occupation and finally
  • Meeting minimum language requirements.
Moreover, in the SWO stream, 27 candidates received the invitation in the Strategic Recruitment Initiative, with a score of 729 points. Here the candidates receive the invitation to fulfill a specified labor market need. 200 candidates received the invitation in the Skilled Workers in Manitoba stream, with the lowest rank candidate scoring 650 points. Furthermore, the province invited 32 candidates in its International Education Stream.

The previous draw was held on Dec 20, where 492 candidates received an Invitation to Apply. The International Education Stream candidates (35) were included in the draw for the first time. 307 candidates received the invitation in the HCP of the Skilled Workers Overseas stream, and the score of the low-rank candidate was 576 points. 44 candidates also received the invitation to the Strategic Recruitment Initiative, where the minimum point requirement was 718. 106 candidates also received the invitation in the Skilled Workers in Manitoba stream, where the minimum point requirement was 502 points

Qualifying For the Skilled Worker in Manitoba Stream

The Skilled Worker in Manitoba Stream has a basis on the specified needs of provincial employers. SWM also selects workers trained in foreign areas having the necessary skills. Moreover, it and nominates them for seeking the PR in Canada. The stream gives a priority to candidates who have an attachment with the province.
  1. a) Manitoba Work Experience Pathway
For all applicants presently working in the province by using temporary work permits, in the Temporary Foreign Worker Program or in the capacity of international graduates from any province, it is not necessary for Candidates to work in top Demand Occupations.
  1. b) Employer Direct Recruitment Pathway caters to overseas applicants with a job offer from approved provincial employers.

Qualifying For the Skilled Worker Overseas Stream

The Skilled Worker Overseas Stream has a dedicated Canada EE Pathway As well as the direct provincial pathway. It attracts global skilled workers with skills/training in In-Demand Occupations. Such applicants who have a spouse or close family connections get a Priority. Also, there is a stress on proficiency in the language, training, and experience.
  1. a) Manitoba Express Entry Pathway For global candidates, eligible in another MPNP stream, who meet criteria in EE and have an active profile, need skills, experience/training in an In-Demand Occupation, and also some strong family connection with the province.
  1. b) HCP caters to international skilled workers possessing skills, experience/training in an In-Demand Occupation. Candidates need to show potential to find employment on arriving in Manitoba.

International Education Stream - Requirements

The International Education Stream also caters to global graduates from colleges and universities of Manitoba. Under it, candidates do not need to work for six months in their field before submitting an application for seeking the MPNP nomination. Furthermore, there are three pathways:

1) Career Employment Pathway   Eligibility requirements:

  • Completing a one-year course from an eligible post-secondary institution in Manitoba in three years after submitting an application.
  • Also, having a full-time job offer in an In-Demand occupation in the field of the completed degree and finally,
  • Residents of Manitoba

2) Graduate Internship Pathway

Master’s and Doctoral degree holders completing Elevate internships or Mitacs Accelerate can apply to seek a nomination by using an internship even when they do not hold a provincial job offer.

3) Student Entrepreneur Pathway Eligibility requirements:

  • Completing a two-year course from an eligible post-secondary institution in Manitoba
  • Six months experience  of operating a business in Manitoba
  • Residing in Manitoba since graduation.
  • Finally, there is No specific requirement of minimum personal net worth
