Canadian Government Plans to Attract High Number of Foreign Students

Canada now has record numbers of foreign students, but the Canadian government is working with universities and colleges to bring even more students to study in Canada.

Educational institutions Representatives are working with officials of the government to promote a strategy to aim for the growth markets for the study permit of Canada.

Impact of International Students

Target nations include those developing economically with lots of young individuals, including Colombia and specific African countries. New government numbers show global students contribute $15.5 billion per year to the economy of Canada, supporting approximately 170,000 jobs in the year 2016.

At the close of 2018, there were 572,415 Canadian study permit holders. University registration alone rose by 15% within 2017 and 2018, as per the figures from Canadian Universities. Study Permit figures have increased by 180% in the current decade.

Steps to Get Canadian PR

A 03-step process has been set in Canada aiming international students.

  • First, you need to hold Study Permits while studying a full-time course.
  • Second, you need to be suitable for a Post Graduation Work Permit.
  • Third, you can use all the experience accumulated to suit for permanent residence.

Canada is one of the more engaging nations in the world for international students considering their options to study. Global students are an essential source of income for Canadian schools, paying significantly more tuition fees than their counterparts in Canada.

Students from China and India dominate the foreign student landscape, accounting for 315,610, or 55%, of the entire Canadian Study Permit holders. Applicants can only satisfy the criteria for Post-Graduation Work Permit of Canada if they graduate from a selected learning institution in a P.G.W.P eligible program.

The P.G.W.P enables foreign students to work and stay in Canada for between 08 months and 03 years following after graduation. The work permit length depends on the program length, provided the program is suitable.

Time spent working in Canada will count towards an appeal for Canadian permanent residence.
