British Columbia Continues Weekly Draws in 2019

The immigration authorities in British Columbia conducted the second draw of the year. Presently they aim to attract technology workers through the PNP Tech Pilot. The province continues to hold weekly PNP draws in 2019 also. Moreover in the draw, held on January 9, it issued 35 invitations in four streams. The skilled workers direct provincial, as well as the EE streams both required a minimum score of 85 points. The requirement for international graduates was 95 points in both streams.

The province had held its first draw on January 2, where it issued invitations to apply for 151 candidates in five streams. The skilled workers direct provincial and EE streams both required a minimum score of 85 points. The international graduates required a minimum score of 95 points in both streams. The score requirement for entry-level and semi-skilled candidates was 68 points.

The BC PNP Tech Pilot was extended into 2019 after it was initially launched in 2017. It presently has a list of 29 target occupations where the duration requirements are relaxed.

Additionally, there is a thriving technology in the province where a few big names of the tech world have a base.

The Tech Pilot Job Requirements are:

  • Having a Job offer in any of the 29 target occupations
  • Job offer needs to have a one-year duration
  • Moreover, it must hold a validity of 120 days at the time of applying

Furthermore, the provincial nomination gives a guarantee in selection in the EE System, and also adds 600 CRS points. The PNP also publishes its score requirement, which will guarantee the immigrants to get the invitation for immigration in various programs. This score requirement for an overseas graduate is 30 points lower than for skilled workers in the EE and also in the provincial stream. Furthermore, the score requirement for semi-skilled and entry-level workers is low.
