On January 10, the Canadian immigration authorities conducted the first draw of 2019, in 108th Express Entry Draw and issued 3,900 Invitations. Moreover, the minimum CRS score was 449, which is 10 points more than the previous draw.

Continuing the trend

After issuing 3,900 ITAs, IRCC has continued the trend of the last seven draws of last year. Additionally, in the first draw at the start of 2018, 2,750 ITAs were issued. Presently there are more candidates in this round, and IRCC is on track for better records in Express Entry this year. The target for immigration intake for high-skilled professionals in 2019 is 81,400. This was the first draw in 2019 and overall it was the 108th Express Entry Draw.

Useful changes

Furthermore, after making the changes to its method IRCC can set an exact number of invitations for issuing ITAs. When the number of candidates having a low score surpasses the number of invitations they can issue, authorities prioritize the profiles that are in the EE pool for a long time. Thus, the cut-off is based on the date/time of submitting these profiles. The highest number of candidates receiving the invitation in one draw after the change is 3,900.

Reason of Changes

Moreover, there is a greater control for immigration officials in the new format. They are in a position to implement a fine method for selecting a specific number of candidates to get the ITA. In the previous system, this was not possible.

Features of Express Entry

Express Entry immigration system is implemented by IRCC with effect from January 1, 2015. It supervises applications of the skilled worker in the Federal programs. These are
  • Federal Skilled Trades Program
  • Federal Skilled Worker Program,
  • Canada Experience Class and parts of the Provincial Nomination Programs

The future is bright

The experts expect to see around 30 draws in 2019. Moreover, there will be a target to issue more than 80,000 invitations.  Many draws will feature a CRS score below 450 so that the immigration authorities can meet this annual target for the year. Employers can recruit Foreign Workers after securing an LMIA or a PNP nomination. Candidates will require a CRS score below 450 points for attaining success.  We bring a series of reviews and details in all such matters. Please contact us.
