In the recent immigration draw held on December 19th Canada has set a new annual record for issuing 107th Express Entry Draw Invitations. Additionally, the total for the present year is 89,800 whereas it was 86,023 in 2017.
The draw was also the second in a week, and had the lowest minimum CRS score for the present year at 439. Moreover, it issued I.T.As to 3,900 candidates.
IRCC has a huge immigration intake target of 74,900 for the present year. This was the 107th round of invitations in E.E and also the 27th in 2018. After making a few changes to the method, IRCC is in a position to set an exact number of invitations for issuing.
When the number of candidates having a low score surpasses the number of invitations allowed, authorities accord priority to the profiles that stay in the pool for a long time. I case more than one candidate has a similar score, the cut-off depends on the date/time the candidate submits the profile. The highest number of candidates receiving the invitations in a single draw after making the change is 3,900.
Reasons of Change in Express Entry
As per the revised format the immigration officials have a greater control in implementing a better method and opting for a specific number of candidates to get the I.T.A. In The past this was not possible. This draw had the continuation of the trend in the E.E where the lowest CRS score was below 500.
Additionally, it was the 36th draw after modification of the CRS and the Express Entry on June 6, 2017.
