The Canadian Government moved a step closer to surpass the record for issuing invitations in a single year in the Express Entry system after holding a new draw.
Total figure of ITA in 2018 stands at 85,900
Additionally, after issuing 3,900 invitations today, to seek Canadian permanent residence, the total figure in 2018 stands at 85,900. This is just 123 away from the record figure of 86,023 of last year. The minimum score in today’s draw was 445, which is similar to the previous draw held on Nov 28th.
IRCC holds the invitation round every two weeks, and this means that there can be another draw in this year. This will create a new record.
The EE system manages the pool of candidates to carry out three Federal Skilled immigration programs. These are:
Canadian Experience Class
Federal Skilled Trades Class
Federal Skilled Worker Class
All Eligible candidates get a ranking score depending on work experience, age, education, and English or French proficiency. This determines their standing in the Express Entry pool. Moreover, a fixed number of the top ranks receive the ITAs through regular draws.
Here IRCC used the tie-break rule with the time stamp of November 28, 2018, at 09:51:43 UTC. All candidates having a CRS score of 445, or above, who had a profile in the pool before the set due date received an ITA in the present round.
There are also additional points for arranged employment, a relative living in Canada, or by having a nomination in a Provincial Nominee Program with a link to E.E PNP stream. A provincial nomination results in obtaining additional 600 points. These points are a guarantee to get an ITA.
Data from IRCC till August 2018
Data from IRCC till August 2018 shows that invitations to EE candidates having a provincial nomination had a share of 12 percent in the total ITAs issued during the period. Comparable figures for the same period in 2017 were nine percent.
There is an increase in the importance of PNP’s in the new multi-year immigration plan. The admissions through PNP now have a target of 61,000 which was 55,000 in 2018.
Moreover there is an increase in the 2019 target for admissions in the Federal High Skilled immigration category also. It will be 81,400, whereas it was 74,900 in 2018. Finally, the ITA record for this year would be a landmark in the history of Canadian Express Entry system
